  • Pre-Treatment Instructions

    · 3 DAYS BEFORE treatment: AVOID using active ingredients such as Retinol, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Glycolic, etc. Also, AVOID waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.

    · 7 DAYS BEFORE treatment (to prevent bruising): AVOID blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve. Also avoid herbal supplements, such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Omega-3 capsules. Please note: If you have a cardiovascular history, please check with your doctor prior to stopping the use of Aspirin.

    · DO NOT drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before (or after) your treatment to avoid extra bruising.

    · Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment.

    · DO NOT use a neuromodulator if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders. Please inform your provider if you have any questions about this prior to the treatment.

    Day of Treatment

    · A very slight lack of comfort and a few small spots may appear at the injection points. These inconveniences generally disappear quickly after injection.

    · Redness and swelling are normal (the small bumps resolve within an hour). Some bruising may also be visible.

    · It is common to experience a headache for the first few days as the muscles relax; you may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol. AVOID Ibuprofen/Advil for 24 hours.

    Post-Treatment Instructions

    · Stay in a vertical position for four hours following injection. DO NOT lie down or bend forward for prolonged periods of time; sit upright.

    · AVOID placing excessive pressure on the treated area(s) for the first four hours. DO NOT massage or rub the injected area(s); i.e. no makeup, facials, massage, eyebrow grooming, tight-fitting hats/helmets.

    · AVOID exercise or strenuous activities for the remainder of the treatment day; you may resume normal activities/routines the following day.

    · AVOID extended UV exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.

    · Treatment takes 14 days to take full effect although it will usually start working in 3-5 days. If you require more units, we advise that you wait 12-14 days for a follow-up appointment as minor issues may work themselves out because certain muscle groups can react quicker than others.

    · A neuromodulator is a temporary treatment lasting on average 3-4 months. Sometimes a few wrinkles may start to return after 2 months. A neuromodulator only works on lines and wrinkles that are caused by muscle contraction.

    · Deep, etched in lines may require more consecutive treatments (every 3 months) to improve and/or may require the addition of fillers or resurfacing treatments.

    · Please consult with your provider in regards to resuming your skincare routine or laser treatments.

    · Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

    · Avoid dental work (including standard teeth cleaning) at least 2 weeks prior to treatment and one month following treatment. Avoid oral surgery at least 4 weeks prior to treatment and one month following treatment.

    · Treatment should not be undertaken while you are ill or have received a vaccination.

    · DO NOT use Dermal Fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders. Please inform your provider if you have any questions about this prior to the treatment.

    Day of Treatment

    · To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied. In some cases, a local numbing medication will be injected into or around the area(s) to be treated.

    · To ensure a smooth and even correction, your provider may massage the area(s) treated, which may cause a temporary, minimal amount of swelling and redness to your skin.

    Post-Treatment Instructions

    · You may experience tenderness, redness, swelling, asymmetry, or itching to the treated area(s). This is a normal result of the injection and generally resolves in a few days. Bruising generally peaks around day 3 and begins to heal subsequently (on average, 7-10 days to resolve); please keep in mind social events when booking your appointment. If you experience severe pain or increasing pain, blisters, red, hot, and inflamed skin, discoloured blotches in areas not injected, or blanching (white), please contact us immediately.

    · Depending upon the area(s) treated and product(s) used, you may feel “firmness” in the treated area(s) for 1 to 2 weeks after treatment. Over time, the area(s) will soften and “settle”. If there is a visible bump, you can gently massage the area.

    · AVOID alcoholic beverages for 24 hours. 48 hours after your procedure, you may begin adding ginkgo biloba, garlic, flax oil, cod liver oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and/or any other essential fatty acids.

    · AVOID exercise or strenuous activities for the remainder of the treatment day; you may resume normal activities/routines the following day.

    · You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol if you experience any mild tenderness or discomfort. AVOID Ibuprofen/Advil for 24 hours.

    · AVOID extended UV exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen. AVOID extreme heat such as sauna and steam rooms etc.

    · No cosmetic makeup for 24 hours. To cover bruising, a green concealer followed by your normal foundation works best. All brushes and sponges should be cleaned prior to use.

    · If bruising appears, we recommend arnica pellets (oral) &/or gel (topical). We also recommend eating fresh pineapple as it is really rich in the enzyme Bromelain which will help to settle inflammation. Untreated bruising will generally fade in 5 to 14 days.

    · Apply an ice or cold gel pack to the area(s) treated (avoiding pressure) as this helps reduce swelling and the potential for bruising.

    · It is advisable that you sleep on your back for the first 2 nights following treatment. AVOID sleeping directly on your face or applying pressure to areas injected.

    · If laser treatment, chemical peel, or any other procedure is considered after dermal filler treatment, the risk of eliciting an inflammatory process may be possible. Consider such treatments 1 week before and/or 2 weeks after the procedure.

    · Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

    · Deoxycholic Acid should not be administered if you are pregnant, nursing, trying to get pregnant, have experienced hypersensitivity in the past, if you have severe allergies, and should not be used in areas of active inflammation or infection (cysts, pimples, rash). Thyroid disease/conditions should be ruled out prior to use as a potential contributing cause of submental convexity/fullness. You should not get this procedure if you currently have or have a history of nerve damage, facial paralysis, facial movement issues, difficulty swallowing, bleeding problems, and/or prior or planned surgery, cosmetic treatments, or medical conditions on or near the face, neck or chin. These conditions may be contraindications to receiving the treatment. Treatment should not be undertaken if you are ill.

    · If you are a male, you should be clean-shaven (neck).

    Day of Treatment

    · To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied. In some cases, a local numbing medication will be injected into or around the area(s) to be treated.

    · You may experience a mild amount of tenderness or a stinging sensation following each injection. Mild pain is felt immediately post-treatment but decreases rapidly within 15 minutes.

    Post-Treatment Instructions

    · You may experience tenderness, redness, swelling, asymmetry, or itching to the treated area(s). This is a normal result of the injection and generally resolves in a few days. Bruising generally peaks around day 3 and begins to heal subsequently (on average, 7-10 days to resolve). Swelling is usually significant in the first couple of days to a week. Patients report looking like a “bullfrog” with a lot of fluid in the skin under the chin; this is normal. Please keep in mind social events when booking your appointment.

    · Numbness is common for the first few weeks to a month. Discomfort and tenderness to the touch are also common in that time frame. Depending upon the area(s) treated and product(s) used, you may feel “firmness” in the treated area(s) for 1 to 2 weeks after treatment. Over time, the area(s) will soften and “settle”. Do not rub the area treated. Do not massage the area. You may apply cool compresses/ice for 15 minutes/hour for comfort and to reduce swelling.

    · On average, patients require 2-6 treatments of Deoxycholic Acid; treatments can be spaced 1 month apart. True results from one treatment can be expected at 8 weeks (after all the swelling has resolved).

Makeup may be used as long as skin is not broken or irritated.

    · AVOID using irritants (active ingredients such as Retinol, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Glycolic, etc.) until all redness/swelling resolves. Also, AVOID waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream.

    · Try to sleep upright, not on your side for the first 48 hours to take the pressure off your neck.

    · Do not have major dental work (excluding routine cleanings) for 2 weeks after the proposed injection procedure.

    · If laser treatment, chemical peel, or any other procedure is considered after Deoxycholic Acid treatment, the risk of eliciting an inflammatory process may be possible. Consider such treatments 1 week before and/or 2 weeks after the procedure.

    · You should immediately notify us if you have any questions or concerns, or see any signs of problems (severe or extended: pain, redness, swelling, bruising, lumpiness, a sign of infection, blood supply compromise, trouble swallowing, uneven smile or trouble with moving the mouth/chin, or other). Signs of blood supply compromise include blanching or whitening/darkening/blackening of the skin, any discoloration, pain, or skin break/sloughing.

    · Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

    Day of Treatment

    · Before the treatment begins, your practitioner explains where the micro-suspension technology, MST, will be placed and temporarily marks your face with a pen.

    · You’ll get a local anesthetic injected into the tissue just beneath your skin. Once the sutures have been inserted, your practitioner will position them precisely where they need to be to achieve the lift you want.

    · After the procedure there may be some minor pain, swelling, and bruising. Sometimes, a slight depression or skin irregularity may appear at the insertion points. These typically disappear a few days after treatment.

    · Your skin will appear lifted and will continue to lift gradually over 2-6 months. Skin also tends to continue to rejuvenate over this period as well.

    Post-Treatment Instructions

    · Apply cold packs immediately after procedure if required (should be wrapped to avoid direct contact with skin and insertion points).

    · Acetaminophen (Tylenol) may be taken in case of pain (2-3 days). Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) is not preferred due to increased risk of bleeding.

    · You may use Arnica [oral route] - homeopathic medicine to reduce bruising: 5 pellets, 3 times per day. Arnica Cream/Gel may be applied topically after 24 hours post-procedure.

    · DO NOT drink alcoholic beverages for a minimum of 24 hours after your treatment to avoid excess swelling.

    · REFRAIN from applying make-up for as long as possible. Make-up may be gently applied after a minimum of 24 hours.

    · Sleep face-up, elevated on pillows for 3-5 nights.

    · DO NOT rub face aggressively when washing, shaving, and drying face for 5 days; be gentle.

    · AVOID excessive neck and facial movements for 2 weeks.

    · AVOID participating in high impact sports (example: running), strong facial impressions, and gum chewing for 2 weeks.

    Day of Treatment

    · To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied. In some cases, a local numbing medication will be injected into or around the area(s) to be treated.

    · You may experience a mild amount of tenderness or a stinging sensation during and following the procedure.

    Post-Treatment Instructions

    · On average, patients should experience minimal downtime, the redness and swelling are normal (the small bumps resolve within 24-48 hours). Some patients may have bruising and blotchiness post-treatment, which will usually settle after four days. Downtime is reduced after each subsequent treatment due to the dermis being repaired.

    · Cold gel packs/ice may be gently applied immediately after treatment to reduce swelling.

    · You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol if you experience any mild tenderness or discomfort. AVOID Ibuprofen/Advil for 24 hours.

    · If bruising appears, we recommend arnica pellets (oral) &/or gel (topical). We also recommend eating fresh pineapple as it is really rich in the enzyme Bromelain which will help to settle inflammation. Untreated bruising will generally fade in 5 to 14 days.

    · Follow-up Appointment: Most patients see improvement within 2-4 weeks with continued improvement for up to 12 weeks. For best results and efficacy: A series of 3-6 treatments administered every 4 weeks (between each treatment). After the initial three to six treatments, the patient should maintain results at three to six-month intervals for additional treatment to ensure radiant, healthy skin.

    · If laser treatment, chemical peel, or any other procedure is considered after a skin &/or beauty booster treatment, the risk of eliciting an inflammatory process may be possible. Consider such treatments 1 week before and/or 2 weeks after the procedure.

    · Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Pre-Treatment Instructions

    · Preparation for the procedure may include the use of home care products as they work synergistically with your treatment to improve the health and beauty of your skin. It allows for better treatment results and reduces the risk of complications. Please consult with your provider for appropriate recommendations for your skin type and condition.

    · 7 DAYS BEFORE treatment: AVOID using active ingredients such as retinoid products, and high levels of AHA and BHA products. Consult your physician before temporarily discontinuing the use of any prescription medications. Also, AVOID waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.

    · AVOID sun exposure and tanning beds for two weeks prior to treatment.

    · Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment.

    · Please inform your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    · Please inform your provider of an aspirin allergy or any other allergies.

    Day of Treatment

    · During the procedure, your skin may feel a sensation of heat “spicy” (stinging/burning) and itchiness. On average, patients will rate it between a 5-7 on a pain scale of 1 to 10. A cooling fan will be directed at the treatment area for comfort.

    · AVOID makeup and washing your face for at least 24 hours following your treatment. Use ONLY the post-procedure skincare kit that is provided to you or as otherwise instructed.

    Post-Treatment Instructions

    · On average, patients should experience minimal downtime, you should not expect to necessarily “peel” heavily. However, you may have light to moderate flaking in a few localized areas for 3 to 7 days. You may also experience residual redness, which lasts in most patients from 1 to 12 hours. It is recommended that you do not apply makeup on the day of the treatment. It is ideal to allow the skin to stabilize and rest overnight.

IN ORDER TO OBTAIN MAXIMUM RESULTS AND AVOID COMPLICATIONS, PLEASE FOLLOW THE POST-PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS LISTED BELOW FOR 5 TO 7 DAYS:

    · AVOID direct sun exposure and excessive heat (such as a sauna, hot tubs, and steam rooms). Be sure to apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen. DO NOT tan or use a tanning booth for at least 14 days post-procedure. Refrain from using sunless tanning products for 7 days post-procedure.

    · DO NOT cleanse your skin on the evening of your peel. Only use the products provided to you in your post-procedure skincare kit or as otherwise instructed. Discontinue use of any exfoliants such as retinoid products, and high levels of AHA and BHA products until your skin return to its “normal state” (about 14 days). Also, AVOID waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area(s) treated for that duration.

    · IMPORTANT: keep your skin hydrated. Hydration is key to proper healing. DO NOT apply ice or ice water to the treated area.

    · DO NOT go swimming for 2 days post-procedure.

    · DO NOT pick or pull any flaking skin.

    · AVOID exercise or strenuous activities for the remainder of the treatment day; you may resume normal activities/routines the following day.

    · DO NOT have laser hair removal, photofacials, RF skin treatments, lasers, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for 14 days post-procedure.

    · Follow-up Appointment: Although there may be a noticeable improvement after one treatment, depending on the target goals and specific skin issues, a minimum of 4 treatments are recommended spaced 2-4 weeks apart. Successful outcomes are based on the number of treatments and the use of home care products that work synergistically to improve the health and beauty of your skin. For best results and efficacy: patients should maintain with one treatment every 3 months after the initial recommended series of treatments are done.

    · Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
