HONNÊTE Ultimate Glow
Pre-Treatment Instructions
· Preparation for the procedure may include the use of home care products as they work synergistically with your treatment to improve the health and beauty of your skin. It allows for better treatment results and reduces the risk of complications. Please consult with your provider for appropriate recommendations for your skin type and condition.
· 7 DAYS BEFORE treatment: AVOID using active ingredients such as retinoid products, and high levels of AHA and BHA products. Consult your physician before temporarily discontinuing the use of any prescription medications. Also, AVOID waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.
· AVOID sun exposure and tanning beds for two weeks prior to treatment.
· Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment.
· Please inform your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
· Please inform your provider of an aspirin allergy or any other allergies.
Day of Treatment
· During the procedure, your skin may feel a sensation of heat “spicy” (stinging/burning) and itchiness. On average, patients will rate it between a 5-7 on a pain scale of 1 to 10. A cooling fan will be directed at the treatment area for comfort.
· AVOID makeup and washing your face for at least 24 hours following your treatment. Use ONLY the post-procedure skincare kit that is provided to you or as otherwise instructed.
Post-Treatment Instructions
· On average, patients should experience minimal downtime, you should not expect to necessarily “peel” heavily. However, you may have light to moderate flaking in a few localized areas for 3 to 7 days. You may also experience residual redness, which lasts in most patients from 1 to 12 hours. It is recommended that you do not apply makeup on the day of the treatment. It is ideal to allow the skin to stabilize and rest overnight.
IN ORDER TO OBTAIN MAXIMUM RESULTS AND AVOID COMPLICATIONS, PLEASE FOLLOW THE POST-PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS LISTED BELOW FOR 5 TO 7 DAYS:
· AVOID direct sun exposure and excessive heat (such as a sauna, hot tubs, and steam rooms). Be sure to apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen. DO NOT tan or use a tanning booth for at least 14 days post-procedure. Refrain from using sunless tanning products for 7 days post-procedure.
· DO NOT cleanse your skin on the evening of your peel. Only use the products provided to you in your post-procedure skincare kit or as otherwise instructed. Discontinue use of any exfoliants such as retinoid products, and high levels of AHA and BHA products until your skin return to its “normal state” (about 14 days). Also, AVOID waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area(s) treated for that duration.
· IMPORTANT: keep your skin hydrated. Hydration is key to proper healing. DO NOT apply ice or ice water to the treated area.
· DO NOT go swimming for 2 days post-procedure.
· DO NOT pick or pull any flaking skin.
· AVOID exercise or strenuous activities for the remainder of the treatment day; you may resume normal activities/routines the following day.
· DO NOT have laser hair removal, photofacials, RF skin treatments, lasers, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for 14 days post-procedure.
· Follow-up Appointment: Although there may be a noticeable improvement after one treatment, depending on the target goals and specific skin issues, a minimum of 4 treatments are recommended spaced 2-4 weeks apart. Successful outcomes are based on the number of treatments and the use of home care products that work synergistically to improve the health and beauty of your skin. For best results and efficacy: patients should maintain with one treatment every 3 months after the initial recommended series of treatments are done.
